ICE CREAM BAR

PUCHONG

TAVERN

The Ice Cream Bar is famous for their authentic alcoholic ice cream along with some other savoury desserts. To atmospherically tailor a space that could recreate a classic yet exclusive scenery inspired by their food products, the latest launching of the Ice Cream Bar’s outlet is conceptualized like a tavern; a place where people gather for alcoholic desserts and beverages.

A typical tavern consists of a spacious plan that caters various seating arrangements that revolves around the bar as a focal. These seating arrangements are studied, extracted and precisely integrated into the retail plan to maximize operation flow efficiency and spatial functionality.

The interior design challenges a monotonous approach that was accented with gold and natural greeneries. Within a monotonous colour palette, lines and shapes became the manipulative variable to give a twist to the scheme to provide visual diversity. The repetition of black and white stripes is played on the floor, outdoor seating, and even wrapping around the pendant light feature. These light features are inspired from the question of – what is in the eyes of a drunken man? As it is known that a drunken vision portrays hallucination and illusion of swirling and floating, the designers took a stance to create large-crafted light balls floating upon the ground, with its attaching string flushed upon the dark ceiling.

While the detailing of bar & furniture speaks of classic & modern coherency, arches and circles are identified as the main dynamic element to disrupt the visual linearity of the interior while inducing playful ambiance within a maturely crafted space. The overall design scheme speaks for a manifestation of classical scenery that is defined at the contemporary modernism.
