TT38 Residence is meant to be aesthetically harmonious with the rural lifestyle of the local livinghood. "More than a simple reconstruction, this house was imagined as a renewal," as the team were inspired to bring forth the concept of Wabi-Sabi into a living concept that uses a monotonous scheme to revitalize the sense of living with raw nature.
The house has applied an array of naturally flawed material from floor to ceiling, such as concrete textured paint and recycled wood in accordance to the Japanese philosophy of Wabi-Sabi. The floor levels are retained to capture the difference in dynamic circulation while breaking the floor planar into distinctive space zonings. Each spaces has its own distinctive volumetric play that intricates human anthropology in terms of senses and comfort.
